Where to get yarn?

Just discovered that the colour I've started using on a blanket has been discontinued.

The only half decent wool shop near me is a hassle to get to so I'm looking for an online shop with a large range of colours that does cheap acryllic DK. I'm just learning so happy with cheap stuff. It seems to make fine enough blankets anyway!

For acrylic, I use Stylecraft Special DK from a variety of places...:

Country Crafts

Also heard good things about

We have a veeery expensive wool shop that is handy to get to near us but ONLY sells very expensive stuff. So if i want something 'nice' for a project I'd probably look there first as I'd want to feel it before spending loads of money on it.

I figure all 100% acryllic DK is much the same quality, it's just the range of colours that would differ. i got quite a few odd balls from my DM when I started crocheting and I've been working my way through those. They're mainly Hayfield (Sirdar) bonus DK.

What colours do you reckon would go with this?

The Stylecraft is by far the softest non-squaky acrylic I've used. The Hayfield is fine.

Do you want something to go with that orange? Do not under any circumstances order Jaffa from the Stylecraft Special range unless you want neon. Same for "Bright green"

hmm, it wasn't orange. It was the Stone one.

Hatfield Bonus isn't bad but I don't use acrylic very often. I get mine from Abakhan in store but they do online sales.

I'd be looking at a dark green to go with that colour, maybe a dark blue

www.kempswoolshop.com/home.aspx often has discontinued yarns in the clearance section but I'm not going to look because my stash is currently enormous
