Blanket for My5boysandme - support for knitters

All our thoughts and sympathies are with the family of baby Dexter, and most particularly with his mum, My5boysandme.

The chat thread has given details of the yarns and pointed to the Crafters' Guide. I will check back to our last support thread for any newer patterns that haven't yet made it up there.

Please stop by if there is any help you need with your square - the crocheters are regular guest stars as well (it's a bit like NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles).

Actually I could adapt the pattern for a blanket square if anyone fancied doing a bit of cable practice?

Grrrr. Home from hols later today so will contemplate cablely(?) things. Finished the second square for Dexter's blanket though, will pm Pistey.

Just popping in here to say my 2 squares are done....thanks to my donor - the colour of the wool looks even nicer once knitted.
Also, not sure it if anyone remembers but I wanted to make a square that had a knitted border with a sort of sunken middle ( to sort of look a bit picture frame ish ) and I think I've suceeded finally! Yay

I've finished DSs blanket tonight except for sewing the ends in so I will be getting on with my little hug tomorrow as I'm waiting for wool for My5 and a delivery of bear parts for stuffing.

droitwich - Your crafter is following the woolly wool up, she'd been away this weekend but will check today. Have heard of orders being held back because a colour is out of stock, that may be what is happening here.

It may of course arrive today.... The last two I followed up, they arrived the next day

I am feeling very pleased with myself. With the help of a cocktail stick I have resurrected my cabling skills from goodness knows how many years ago . I have also had a go at flashing and very nice it is too .

Trib - LOVE that little frock. I'd be game for a go if you want to try to adapt the hat to a square pattern (I've just done the cable square from the refuge e-book).

Pistey, I saw on the other thread that your inbox is falling over so didn't want to add to it. Do the My5boys squares need sending to you or the other address (I still have both PMs so just tell me which one). DH is going to the UK next week so will pop them in the post for me.

Not particularly flo. I am currently team tagging a bear on the refuge project with a knitter in USA and have knitted for a donor in Australia!

Flo, we have Blanketeers scattered across the world.

We really do with the furthest away being New Zealand, then Australia, but we now have all four corners of the globe covered.
