I think it's a mixture of motivation and discipline. I frequently find myself moaning about not having enough time to do the (craft related) things I want to do, but then when I have time, I'm wasting it on MN! So I try to restrict MN to daytimes, when I have 5 minutes here and there. When DD (14mo) is in bed, I get on with some crafts.
I like reading blogs now and again, it gets me fired up and the creative juices flowing - but I try to limit it, as I think "I could be doing things I love, or I could be reading about OTHER PEOPLE doing things I love." The more time I spend reading blogs, the more frustrated I am, because I just find myself with even more ideas and even less actual craft time.
I like to have a "clear out" of my craft things now and again, very similiar to SoupDragon's clear outs. Nothing leaves the house, it just gets looked at, patted a bit, and adored. It gets tidied up and organised a bit, and also reminds me of projects I had in mind that I'd forgotten about, yarn that I'd forgotten I had (a sure sign that my stash is too big), and renews my motivation and enthusiasm.
Dingle, get your backside in that craft room. Get rid of the step ladders / fishing rods / tins of paint that have been dumped in there. Very quickly you will start to see your craft room come back to it's former glory, and you'll be creating again in no time.
