SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/10/2012 17:03

I've got a picture of all the blocks laid out - I'll put it on my profile when I get to the main pc - I havent worked out how to do it on the iPad. Blush

SoupDragon · 21/10/2012 17:21

I don't think you can do it from an iPad at all.

Oooh, SDTG I've just started a hexagon blanket.

I finished a circle in a square blanket this week

SoupDragon · 21/10/2012 18:02

Very nice, Pantry :)

That's lovely, PantryGirl. Smile

Seabright · 21/10/2012 18:33

Christmas poncho finished, so have started egg cosies from this month's The Simple Things with a clear conscience.

aJumpedUpPantryGirl · 21/10/2012 18:35

Thank you (it's PantryBoy with a sex change by the way)

STDG, what shape will your finished blanket be?
I'm torn between a trapezium with jagged edges or a rectangle where I fill in the edges to make them straight

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/10/2012 20:06

It sort of has jagged edges - it's rows of the hexagons in a 5-4-5-4-5 layout - if that makes sense.

Practicallyperfectnot · 21/10/2012 20:12

I'm hooked! Attended a day course at Get Knitted - was the slowest in the group so that I spent a lot of today trying to practise! Made a friendship dc bracelet for dd and now a hairband with 2 rds of 5 granny sqs. Does the frogging term apply in crochet?!

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 21/10/2012 20:18

Hurrah, welcome Practically :o

Frogging applies because you still have to rip it rip it

I'm crocheting cables they look nice but take forfuckingever!

Practicallyperfectnot · 21/10/2012 20:22

PP Thanks

aJumpedUpPantryGirl · 21/10/2012 20:22

That makes perfect sense SDTG

Welcome Practically, prepare to have your life overtaken by lovely yarn

I can't be the only one who leaves a little trail of off-cut pieces of yarn behind everytime I get up from my chair.

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 21/10/2012 20:58

I scatter them like confetti where'ere i roam Wink

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/10/2012 14:26

I've finished my mini-hug - I hooked it together yesterday (staying up well past my bedtime to do so), and crocheted the edging today at knitting group - and it looks pretty good, I think. I've put a picture on my profile.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 22/10/2012 16:31

Please may I join? Smile

I'm addicted to crochet, something I never imagined myself enjoying! Started off wanting to make something for my dd before she was born and its just taken over from there Grin

aJumpedUpPantryGirl · 22/10/2012 17:35

Welcome MummyDuckAndDuckling

SDTG, I love your mini-hug, what beautiful colours.

Which hexagon pattern did you use?

KnickersOnOnesHead · 22/10/2012 19:42

Creeping into this thread. I am a newbie to crochet. Cannot seem to get my head around it at the moment grrr but going to have another go now after almost three weeks from the first attempt!

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 22/10/2012 19:52

Knickers, what are you trying to do, we might be able to talk you through it?

theodora · 22/10/2012 20:31

Hello everyone
Pantry, that blanket is gorgeous. What pattern did you use. Sadly I can't see others' projects because I'm on my phone. Have just done a practice ripple piece, which I'm quite excited by and have ordered some cheap stylecraft special dk (though still have over half of my small granny square blanket to make!!)

aJumpedUpPantryGirl · 22/10/2012 20:55

Thank you theodora - I just played around until I had a square I liked. I've added the pattern here on my blog.

It's the second time I've used it to make a blanket, the first one wasn't colour co-ordinated but I think I actually prefered it as it was really cheerful.
Cheerful Version

KnickersOnOnesHead · 22/10/2012 22:33

Pidj, I'm just trying to master the basics. Think I'm almost there but started getting pins and needles in my little and index fingers so have packed away for the night now though! Hopefully will crack on with more practice tomorrow night :)

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 22/10/2012 22:36

Relax your shoulders, i get that if i crochet when stressed - the tension travels to the work and it comes up tight :)

TheInvisiblePoster · 22/10/2012 22:44

Ooh can I join? It will be lovely to chat to people that appreciate crochet rather that boring DH to death Grin

My grandma taught me to crochet when I was around 8 yrs old and I could only make blankets for years. Once I'd had the DC I decided I wanted to get a bit more adventurous and I love it, there is never a day that passes when I don't pick up my hook. I've posted a pic to my profile of some keepsake bunnies that I make:)
