Where is the damn Rudolph hat photo! Preferably stuck on the head of an adorable baby if you can find a handy one Wink

DoesntTurkeyNSproutSoupDragOn · 16/12/2012 13:29

Oooh, I gave my first Crochet "lesson" at rugby this morning [proud]

MoreFrontThanBrighton · 16/12/2012 13:35

Not sure if this will work but this is what I have been working on recently...

I asked for some help with the clanger a few weeks ago. In the end I stole the body bit from a pattern on ravelry (for a pig!) and made up the rest myself. I think it is recognisable although one of my friends saw it and said, oh an elephant Hmm Smile

PurpleFrog · 16/12/2012 13:37

That looks like a perfectly respectable clanger to me!

Elephant?? Hmm

DoesntTurkeyNSproutSoupDragOn · 16/12/2012 13:41

It's obviously a Clanger! Elephant indeed - sheesh.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 16/12/2012 14:18

Fab clanger! Definitely not an elephant Xmas Hmm

Let me just finish this feed and I'll take a pic of him in his Rudolph hat Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/12/2012 19:26

Pidj that is one cute hat on an adorable chick.

MNPdoesYULETIDE · 18/12/2012 13:45

Love the hat Pidj would love to come to a crochet meet up some day.

That is most definitely a Clanger *MFTBrighton, a very cute Clanger.

The only problem with 5 WIP is it takes an age to decide which to work on.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 13:52

I've got a mumsnetter in need of lessons, just waiting for a pm with her location. Watch out for pm's, anyone who put their location down, she'll pay in cake Xmas Wink

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/12/2012 13:55

HaveToWearHeels · 18/12/2012 20:06

Hi Ladies, can I join please ? I have just completed my first crocheted Little Hug and have the bug (usually a knitter). DD is begging me for a blanky for her bed and I would love to make some 3D flower squares I keep seeing on the Woolly Hugs. Can you tell me if these are done all in one or if the flowers are seperate and sown on and where are the best tutorials to do this ?
Thanks

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 20:59

Hello, HaveTo, try ravelry for crochet flowers - there's loads! Make sure you've got lots of time, though Thanks

Woolly, you have pm Xmas Grin

aJumpedUpChristmasElf · 18/12/2012 21:03

HaveToWearHeels, there are some nice squares with integral flowers in Jan Eaton's book 200 crochet blocks

poocatcherchampion · 18/12/2012 21:49

hello, can I join? I've just finished my first ever project - a hat for my 9mo, and am now sandwiched between a stripry blanket and the beginnings of a Xmas stocking, wishing I was working on the blanket but needing to do the stocking. tough times!

I love this sport. it beats knitting hands down! Smile

DoesntTurkeyNSproutSoupDragOn · 19/12/2012 07:58

Welcome Poo. Or Catcher.

I have so many project on the go. I'm not going to get the Christmas gifts done that I wanted to as I"ve been trying to finish the Team Hooker Refuge blankets. Still, there's always next year!

One thing the Refuge blankets have taught me is that there is no way I could put together a full size Wooly Hug!

HaveToWearHeels · 19/12/2012 13:40

Thanks for your replies, I did find a video on You Tube last night so followed that, (pausing and playing and lots of rewinding) resulting in a sort of square. The actual squre part is "loopy" but I suppose I could just do a simple "granny square" instead of the loopy ? (photo on my profile). My trouble is, I can follow a demo but can't make head nor tale of a pattern lol
Jumped thanks for the tip, might have a look out for that book on my shopping trip tomorrow.
