Where can I buy fabric to make a Christening gown?

I am drawing a bit of a blank. I don't sew often and my go-to fabric shop has closed down :( I haven't trekked to John Lewis yet but the fabric on their website seems to be mostly for interior design work. Websites I've looked at are either wholesalers or the fabrics are polyester stuff. Where can I buy nice fabric to make a Christening gown?

Cotton and Silk Blend Lawn Fabric from Truro Fabrics.

Anywhere that does wedding dress fabrics as well.

My mum made her own wedding dress (1968) and then made it into a christening robe and cape that the three of us were christened in. 2 of the grandchildren were also christened in it, that may be a tradition you could start?

I'd like to use the veil from my wedding outfit as an open-fronted overlay over a simple high-waisted, short-sleeved dress, with a ribbon round the join. No idea if I can do it but I'll do a practice run with cotton and organza first to get an idea.

Fingers crossed! I did a pinned mock-up this morning on one of DS's teddies and it looked alright :o
