I need to make a drawstring bag

I have a sewing machine, am visiting a fabric shop on Monday... but what do I do?

It's for my folding walking stick to go in. I have no idea where to start. I have googled & looked at tutorials but it is all complicated! Can I make one myself? Can anyone explain how, very simply? And what do I need... fabric, cord & thread? Anything else?

You can make one out of a pillow case - just turn the top over and sew a channel leaving both ends open to thread the cord through.

Oh, that looks fairly straight forward, thank you. It needs to be smaller than a pillow case but I think it'd be relatively simple to do?

You could turn pillow case inside out, sew a line along the middle to make case the right size, cut off excess and then do the drawstring bit like in the tutorial. Does that make sense? I've written it and I'm not sure I could follow my instructions lol
