i have just been brought by DP one of those "counted cross stiches" to do have done stiching since school am i being adventurous or is it quite simple please help me

It should be quite simple in that you just follow the pattern & cross off the squares on the pettern as you go. The key thing is finding where to start & not forgetting where you are up to !

i try and start in the middle of the pattern (prob wrong lol!) and shade off in pencil the bits that i have done if you see what i mean.

Been "stung" before and ran out of aida!! got lost more times than i can count too!!

I love cross stitches. I got one when I was expecting DD, I think I finished it by the time she turned 2!

I shaded in the parts that I had done too, didn't stop me going wrong so I just adjusted the pattern.

DP brought me the me to you "new baby" on god it looks hard i doing what u all suggest shading in the squares after i stitched them but do i do outline as i go , first last dosnt really say in instructions

usually, I start in the centre. I also mark the squares off as I go but I use a highlighter. Could you try enlarging the pattern on a photocopier, if you are having trouble seeing it clearly.

i do all the outlines last. ie do all the x stitches in all the colours first then do the outlines.
