Nice one, Dilly!
I can't knit for toffee, but I love stuff like this - makes me smile :)

DillyTante · 05/07/2012 13:15

Thanks :)

It's crochet actually, I can't knit for toffee either!

I would love to, but I'm waaaay too chicken.

And my knee is knackered so I can't run fast :o

Although when we scattered my mum's ashes in the wilds of Scotland we left some pompoms tied round a tree, as she spent her final months making pompom after pompom after pompom till she was too ill Does that count?

SerialKipper · 05/07/2012 19:45

Is that a Stars and Stripes penis?

DillyTante · 05/07/2012 21:52

Pom poms in trees are definitely yarn bombs!

And yes, we did realise that the long stars and stripes really emphasised the phallicness of the bollard!

Do you hang around the following day gauging reaction to your bombs? And have the local press picked any up?

I'm intrigued by it all and itching to have a go, though boring old DH thinks I'm nuts!

If I had a partner in crime, I would be more prepared to jump in.

DillyTante · 06/07/2012 09:56

I haven't with this one daisy as it I no longer live in the town I bombed. But when I did my heart one I staked it out as you can see!

You do need to find an equally crazy friend for moral support.

Not sure if it is in the local press but it is on a few local FB pages, and we've been tweeted a bit.

Brilliant work :D I love yarn bombing.

I want to start yarn bombing and know that there is a group local to me that do it, but I can't find them! Can't join the local ravelry getup either as they meet whilst I'm at work :(

coldcomfortHeart · 10/07/2012 11:12

Noticed a yarn bomb recently on the swings at a nearby children's park. I did a total double take, as I don't exactly live in a hotbed of subversive street art!

I like them, and am on the lookout for more from Deeside's local guerilla textile artist...

AlmostAHipster · 10/07/2012 11:15

Fabulous! More power to your elbow, ladies :)

RiaOverTheRainbow · 15/07/2012 12:07

I've done a bit, nothing so dramatic as yours though! Love them.

OctopusSocktopuss · 15/07/2012 12:11

Dilly is one of the photos in cheltenham?

DillyTante · 15/07/2012 19:46

Hmm Octopus, it's in a vary naice middle class town, with an overly priced bakery, posh school kids and where decorative scarves are the local dress code.
