Cross-stitch design from a paint file

I've got a couple of cross stitch designers, but I don't like the results I'm getting from them for a particular design I'm trying to convert to a cross stitch pattern. Anyone got any ideas? The design is 2 golden greek letters intertwined and the programs I'm using at the moment are KG-Chart and Jean Greenoff's Cross stitch designer.

It's for a golden wedding anniversary card.

I think that Stitch Era can convert cross stitch designs - it's a free download, I got it for digitising machine embroidery.
