Where can I sell or gainfully get rid of a 1979 Janome sewing machine?

It's a Janome Memory 7 that was Janome's first 'computerised' home use model. It belonged to my MIL. I have it because my BIL can't tell the difference between my whiz bang over-locker and his long deceased mother's 1979 model, thus shipped it to us in the UK......

It is taking up space I need. I assume I have the manual for it though I see they can be downloaded.

I gather it does fancy stitching, the sort that was popularly used to decorate home made clothing in 1979+!

I want to get rid of it BUT I doubt it'd have any ebay value but I also don't want to chuck it in a skip if someone has a better idea!

this is it

Look for a sewing machine collectors site...there are tonne online. Email them and ask.

Does it still work? Can you advertise it in your local newspaper (Friday-Ad) or give it to a charity shop?

BTW, I am still using my sewing machine given to me on my 18th birthday in 1973 but it's not a computerised one.

Actually, I don't know if it works! I assume so- I'm fine with sewing machines but maybe not with such a fiddly one. I'm also loathe to spend £35 odd getting it serviced just to sell for maybe £15!

Freecycle! Just say you don't know if it works.

Where are you? I don't have a sewing machine and I can't afford to buy a new one.
