How much 'bling' for a Ballroom dress?

I have photos on my profile - there is a full scatter version & a light scatter version or I could do more detailed stoning, picking out the pattern

What do you think?

I don't know but it's blinking gorgeous! You are very clever! Love it. So pretty.

Thank you - DD loves it she feels like a princess in it

& while we are meandering with it I am also struggling with what to make the Latin skirt out of? DD doesn't like the mini dress and it's too confining.

I like the first two photos. (full scatter?)

Not sure about picking out the pattern as its an 'all over repeat'- but I'm not a ballroom expert..........I just love bling!

Thanks

Do you think a silver short full circle skirt would look good with the top?

Yes! I also like the full scatter....and your DD is a little dolly...what a cutie. Your sewing is stunning! I would love to be able to make that kind of thing for my DDS.

Does it need to be lycra? or could you have white with a strong silver thread then add a few sparkles to match with the top?
I know often it's hard matching 'whites' though.
Again I haven't a clue about any dress codes for dancing :)

KatyMac · 15/06/2012 21:53

Nope the top is white stretch lace which I ran out of & can't find any more

So I can put lycra, georgette or anything floaty as a skirt

I just happen to have some silver but it might not flow very well it's a bit crispy/papery

Thanks TheHouseOnTheCorner, I think she is a poppet too

My sewing is....adequate but I'm learning

I have some scraps of the lace - I wonder if I could make a panelled skirt
