I have loads of Vogue patterns - where should I sell them?

This is absolutely not an advert btw - just want a pointer to whether there are swops / second hand sites you crafty people use other than ebay.

It's nothing really exciting or vintage but I have a carrier bag of dress/skirt etc patterns in great condition. Some of them have been used so are cut to size 12, but others just never started upon. I am trying to offload them on behalf of my mum who is the seamstress of the family. I'm utterly cack handed but have kept the patterns for my first evening dress and my wedding dress that she made... might learn one end of a needle from the other one day!!!

I'm afraid I don't have any advice, but have loads and loads myself so bumping hoping that someone will come along with something useful to say!

oh you tease! I was all excited that someone had responded!

It really does depend how old they are and what condition they are in.

The uncut patterns will obviously fetch much more. Also if they are a classic or have a designer name, then they will be worth more, especially if your mum has any of the classic 1950s New Look ... it might be worth looking to see if you have any of the Vogue labels which you received if you bought certain of their patterns in the 60s/70s...

Take a look on e-bay but remember to put a reserve on them.

Thanks LatteLady - they are 80s and 90s, no designer names, perfect condition even if cut to size 12. So ebay is the only real option? there's no pattern swopping community on the sidelines of etsy or similar?

how many do you have?

Lexilicious · 09/06/2012 19:12

about 30? I really don't want to look like I'm advertising here. But pm me if you want details and I can tell you some of the codes - it's all dresses, skirts, jackets, that sort of thing.

ebay is a good place to start, although I'm interested! You may be able to mention them on an etsy forum, some are stricter than others, Flickr may be another.
