Advice would be appreciated...I think I am at that stage of my crafty hobby that I think I would like to start experimenting with a tool. It would need to do drilling, soldering, perhaps glass cutting and metal cutting. I am not sure where to start, which one is good/not so good and would appreciate views from more experience crafters.

saw that too late but thanks for the reply hippy went for the cheapo instead waiting to see if I actually used it much with a view to upgrade to a dremel if I do and it wears out

Look out for dremels on offer, mine was a bargain in B&Q as the box was damaged.

I love my dremel, my DH has to ask if he wants to borrow it [he has gert big man tools] and it's very handy.

Mine tends to see most use at pumpkin carving time, it's really handy to mark out and cut intricate patterns.
