SEWING MACHINE buying a new one

I currently have a janome very basic machine which I've out grown. I've had since I was 15.

Looking to buy a newer machine. Maybe a computerised one as I need one with the ability to do alphabet on. To put writing etc on The things I make.

My dad has very kindly offered to help me buy one

I don't as yet have a total budget but I think second hand machine below £500 would be max

Any advice greatly received

janome do one of those - i don't have it but i have seen it 'in action'. you could get a circle thing to sew circles to go with it so you can write in circles. this one is new for your budget. (disclaimer - I haven't tried it)

Hi, the innovis machines are great, very well built and reliable - I have 2 on the go at the moment - not a 900 though! I've had the older one for a few years and its going strong with no problems.

The innovis 350se also has 3 fonts but doesn't do other embroidery - its not a combined sewing & embroidery machine - its around £499 online but might not be exactly what you're after. The 900 is a combined machine and you can download designs from the net - I think this would include extra fonts. Plus you have the embroidery side which can be seriousy addictive!
