Table cloths for trestle tables

Hi, im currently planning my wedding and our budget is quite small. We are having our reception in our local village hall and the tables are 10ft trestle tables. I have search everywhere for some table cloths but they are really expensive....so anyway I've decided to make them. So my question is...what type of fabric is best for table cloths? Is it Polycotton?

The tables are 120" x 30" so I'm thinking I need to buy 140" x 50"

Do you have a Fabricland near you? They have something called honeycomb parc at 75p a metre which they say is for cheap coverings for tablecloths at weddings etc. I think you can order it over the phone (and probably get a sample before you buy). Not quite sure what honeycomb parc is though. Not sure I'd use a polycotton - probably more like a cotton twill? You could ring Fabricland and ask them?

Hmm....just looked online and honeycomb parc is the type of non-woven material cushion inners are made from (hence the cheapness) - not sure that's really what you'd be after - one step up probably from just rolls of diposable paper tablecloths. (Although....thinking about that you could get a catering roll of paper tablecloths and then decorate them with fabric/wallpaper runners/flowers/prints)?

Sorry....its banqueting roll and you can get all different grades and feels/weights of it. Different colours too.

Hi, I went on Fabriclands website a few days ago but it's a bit confusing, I should probably give them a call.

I've looked at Banqueting Rolls also but I'm not really that keen on them.

Thanks x
