trouble with trebles

I am getting there with some of the techniques but I find some of it very vague. I have made a ring and I am joining in the next colour and I am being told to do 2Trebles. I know how to do this stitch but it doesn't tell me what work to put onto the hook if that makes sense.

Later on it says 3tr into next chain space which is fine but what about the treble where it doesn't tell you where to pick up the work from.

i did look online to see if there was any pictures to help but couldn't find anything.

If it doesn't say otherwise, you do it into the top of the next stitch of the row underneath.

If you're joining a new colour you just knot it on where it is supposed to start. Do you need to ch3 in place of the first tr as you say you are only making 2 but 3 in the next? That would make it easier to join in the new colour
