Quick help needed on binding my blanket (again)

ok, so some of you may remember that I finally managed to get some satin blanket binding for my baby blanket, but the pattern showed through

i managed to track down some in a darker shade online, great.

only when it came it is not actually blanket binding it's the kind that is folded over on each edge (is that bias binding??)
so it's actually going to be narrower than i'd have liked... but it feels nicer and it will not have hte pattern showing through

what I need to know though, is how to attach it to my blanket? I'd been advised to use a zig-zag stitch for the blanket binding... can i still do that? or am i going to be better off doing what everyone on youtube seems to do which is sewing it onto one side, then folding it over and sewing it onto the other side??
shoudl i use a straight stitch or a zig-zag?

Hello thisis.. Yes i remember your thread Smile and yes it's Bias Binding.

I'd be inclined to go the You Tube way, stitching the inside of the bias first, then fold over the edge of blanket so that its the right way around.. i would personally hand slip stitch the second side, but you can top stitch if you don't like hand sewing or want to spend hours doing it- i'd be inclined to go with a straight stitch, a Zig zag may make it feel stiff especially as it's narrow binding
