Im making DS2 a fire engine cake for his birthday tomorrow. I have a problem in making a ladder for the top. I thought I would be able to find something suitable but I have not been able to. Ideally I want it to be edible but Im short of time now so Anything will do.

i looked for liquorice but didnt find anything that would do the job. i looked in fire engine toys to see if there was a part I could borrow but no luck there either. It has to be about 15cm long and 5cm wide. Anyideas of how I can do this?

Curly Wurly?

5madthings · 17/04/2012 09:34

yes a curly wurly would be good, or use chocolate fingers for the rungs of the ladder and some twix sticks for the sides? :)

Matchmakers? The rungs could be made of short bits melted at each end to stick to the long sides.

White chocolate fingers, glued together with icing?

Do you know anyone who has a Playmobil fireman's ladder (like the one in this set) you could borrow?
