23 assorted coloured lollypop sticks (red, yellow, orange, green, purple)

2 small brown pom poms (about an inch across)
2 small black pom poms
10 very small red pom poms (about 1.5 cm)
10 tiny black pom poms
10 tiny white pom poms (About a cm)

Small bag of shredded white tissue paper

Assorted shapes for sticking: circles, rectangles, teardrops, triangles and leaf-like shapes in red, blue, yellow, purple, black. The largest about 1.5 inches, the smallest about 5mm)

Large shiney black sequins
Black star sequins

The instructions are long gone! (and possibly some of the bits?!) DS found it today and is keen to make it. I know we could just do something fun and creative with them, but I'd like to at least have a go at working out what it's meant to be.

DS reckons a pirate ship, but I reckon the sticky shapes look parrot coloured, and I reckon I can see what should be a pupil in there.

But then where on earth do the shiny black stars come in?! And the pom poms?

Does anyone recognise the description of this activity set? (He got it last Xmas).

What could it be?!

TIA! Smile

My bet is that it's just plain old pirate characters on a stick...that tends to be what that kind of kit is for.

You know....stick a head on, I assume out of one of the shapes...round? Teardrop if big enough? The a pirate hat or scarf...then add features, eyes, (or eye and one patch) hair is the shredded tissue...the stars could be part of a flag maybe? Or decoration for a "headscarf"?

These things tend to be somewhat vague anyway and the instructions are often unworkable. I would just let the dc make what he wants.

Thanks for the reply AwkwardMary :)

It doesn't quite fit as the shapes are mostly the same size. I did see what it was in passing but that was at Christmas and I have totally forgotten! I was kinda hoping someone would say yes that's exactly what my DC got for christmas, here's our youtube video of us putting it together Wink

In reality I think you're right though we'll have to just make it up!

DS is convinced it's a pirate ship. I'm buggered if I can work out how though!

Maybe we'll draw a big ship and put stick men pirates on it :)
I like your flag idea too, thanks :)

I'd draw my own ship shape, let him paint it then add all the bits as 'features' Wink
