What is Seam binding please?

& can I fudge it with something I already have.......

Looks like it's just regular binding, to me (quick google).
Cut a strip of pretty fabric & bind around the seams or edges (maybe).

It's inside so I guess it doesn't matter what it looks like

It's lyrca which has been gathered so I think it might be to stablise the seam/gather; so a bit of poly cotton or ribbon sewn onto the seam allowance might do?
