what to do with these blankets?

I have 3 Ikea cot blankets which match my baby's room. However, the blankets are too small for her cotbed (doh!) Any ideas of things which I can make them into?

I can quilt, so was wondering about that, but there are only 3 blankets, two of which have the same pattern...

I'm stumped Confused

Sew them together to make a bigger blanket?

Cut them into squares and sew them together into a random checked pattern?

What about sewing them together, along the long sides, with the odd one in the middle. Then put a contrast border/binding around?

I think you should sew them together Daisy Grin

Cheers all! So the general gist of things is to sew them together Grin

Any ideas for design? Two are white with the pattern on, whilst the third is green and white gingham. All I can think of is alternating squares - anyone have any more exciting ideas for a pattern?

Can you link to which ones they are?

SoupDragon · 29/03/2012 07:01

Can you arrange the gingham pieces in either an initial or something else?

Its these. I also have a spare panel of this which is cotton (assuming I don't mess up the curtains or cot bumper...)

I would cut equal size squares out of all the fabrics, sew them all together into the size you want then bind the edges.

Now that I see the blankets, I would cut them into long strips and sew the strips together. And add in some contrast strips, maybe plain red etc.

Would make a lovely quilt top. Also, if you have any other baby clothes you could cut them up too and add them in.
