What do you call the waxed thread used for beading and knotting and what width do you use for seed beads?

Sorry for the long title.

Dd has been taught to do this at a craft event and would like to do more.

We can find the beads online but we have no idea what the correct thread width is and what it is called.

Cany anyone help?

waxed cotton cord - usually 1mm in diameter
Seed beads, it depends what size you have, 1mm will definitely go through 6'0s and at a push 8'0s.
There is a special macrame cord thats called s-lon and thats about 0.4/5 mm
