Blowing Eggs!!

So I'm hoping someone will have an answer for me. My DD's class have to take into school 4 blown eggs! These are going to be decorated and then taken home. The teacher didn't want boiled eggs as once cracked these would smell, however a few of the parents are concerned that blown eggs will be delicate and break very easily.

Does anyone know of a way to strengthen the eggs once blown before decorating? or have any tips? I can see a few crushed eggs happening.

TIA x

They are stronger than you think. I don't know how to strengthen before decorating, but you can varnish them afterwards with a clear varnish. Do test it first as it can make some felt tips or paint run and spoil the whole design. Or maybe you could paint them in coloured nail varnishes, could look very pretty! Take them to school in an egg box and they will be super safe (till they get there).

Oh, just seeing that they will paint them in school, sorry! Maybe they have to take 4 in the hope that one survives! It's not an activity I would do with a lot of kids!! But as I said, they are stronger than they look because of their shape.

ah ok, might suggest to the teacher about decorating with nail varnish as it would be 2 in one - colour and varnish! thank you
