Peeling iron-on denim patches

What can I do? The patches are ironed on between my thighs, where the rubbing had worn through the denim, and has now started causing the patches to peel up as well. At the moment I am ironing them back down every night, but is there some magic extra strong fabric glue I could buy? Or am I going to have to sew the patches down?

I do have some bondaweb, actually. I will try that this morning.

I'd rather avoid sewing if I can because I suspect my horrible stitching will rub horribly on my inner thighs!

Thanks for the advice.

I use bondaweb a lot in my applique and would also recommend oversewing round the edges
