Thinking of having a go at re-borning a baby doll.

I know not everyone likes the reborn dolls but having been a midwife I think babies are works of art. I have been watching a few on eBay and looking at kits etc.
Any reborn artists here?
Am I mad?

I had quite fancied having a go tbh! I didn't in the end as the process seemed to take ages...I was fine with all the painting and putting hair in etc...it was the baking and the getting the body right that put me off.

It's very lucrative if you'r'e any good though!

It depends what you plan on doing with it. I think they're freaky.

It's all the fault of MN really (another thing I can blame MN for ), there was a thread about them a few weeks ago. I don't hate them and would ideally LOVE one custom made of DS as a baby but they cost mega amounts of cash. I am just quite artistic and as said in my OP think babies are a work of art [soppy midwife emoticon]. Just want to have a go at creating one - not to sell, just to sit in the bedroom and also to see if I can actually do it - as AwkwardMary says - the process is longwinded.

My auntie who liked dolls and kept some of my cousins childhood ones knew a lady who did just that - right down to washing and ironing "Stephanies's clothes". Strange - very strange.

It's a slippery slope... one minute you're interested in the process of making one, next thing you are enrolling them in baby sing-a-long.

I could show you a very scary YouTube clip of a woman doing just that if you'd like ....and people LOVE it - OMG might have to just rethink this lol.

I do find these completely weird and often wondered who on earth made/bought these. You sound relatively normal though
