I am currently playing around with ideas for an alternative career in the future. Many moons ago I used to do batik, paintings and silk scarves. When I was making the scarves (as gifts) I used templates of leaves, flowers, woodland animals etc but the design and execution was all mine.

IF I decided to start attempting to sell my scarves would I still be able to use the templates do you think or would I have to design my own? I have a good eye for colour etc but cannot draw for toffee.........

I doubt the outside of a flower has copyright. To get this there needs to be a certain level of expertise and skill. There's none of this when copying the outside of a leaf.
