Help - need to make DS2 a stick man costume for school book week

DS2's school has their book week next week. The theme is Julia Donaldson books. He wants to go as a stick man despite me trying to suggest something easier. I am CRAP at creative stuff.

He has a brown pair of trousers and a long sleeved brown t shirt with a logo on it which I need to cover up. How can I turn this into a decent costume? There is a hobbycraft near where I can pick up some bits but I don't know where to start.

I'd just go to the woods this weekend and find some sticks the right length, then tie them onto his arms and legs and let him carry one!

The fact you've got brown tshirt and trousers is a bonus. I'd do the above over whatever came out of the drawer!
