Burdastyle.com is worth signing up to, then filter for Free and Children. There's some gorgeous stuff all ready to print Grin

lots of great blogs out there with free patterns - try googling in images rather than normal google

Fabricland (south) Abakhan (north) are cheap. Both have websites, although at fabricland you have to phone your order through & they charge you the actual royal mail postage. Also croft mill always has a nice selection of dressmaking fabrics.

Fabricland has shops in Bournemouth and Southampton, and possibly other places (only know my local ones) their website is headache-inducing vile!

I've lost hours of my life there Grin

these patterns get rave reviews, but I haven't tried one yet.

I buy most of my fabric from efabrics.co.uk/ the polycotton makes great sundresses for my Dgd.

this site often has links to blogs or websites with patterns for all sorts of sewing ideas.

the oliver & s site linked above has a couple of free girl patterns on their blog, I have made the sailboat top. The instructions were clear enough for a near-beginner and I was really pleased with the top. The patterns are expensive though. (around £10-£13) I bought mine from backstitch.co.uk

sewmamasew blog is also good, have a look in the different catagories on the left hand side.

Also lots of great patterns on etsy.com and most are downloadable PDFs so you don't have to pay for postage (only printer ink & paper)
