Ok - DP popped the question on Saturday and I said a HUGE FAT YES! Grin

Looking for a goldsmith in the Hebrides to make a very special Celtic engagement ring.

Looking for someone to sketch out a design and make it for me.

Google has turned up nothing really..............I have had hits from Edinburgh and the Orkneys and costume jewellery from the Hebrides but not a single hit from someone who can make an engagement ring.

Help! I want a ring from the Outer Hebrides.

This one on Lewis

Lucy

I know that jewellers and thank you for the link. It is so frustrating that every 'contact us' link seems to be blocked and I can't access the websites of the tourist board, Arts & Crafts etc etc

I haven't been banned from the Outer Hebrides (as far as I know) Confused

That would be a bit rubbish. Do you want me to see if I can find an email address for you??

redrubyshoes · 05/03/2012 21:48

Lucy

I have posted this in chat as well but seriously I cannot get through on a 'contact us' link on any webpage I have visited in the Outer Hebrides.

Do you know of a goldsmith on the island?

That's the only one I know. I visited on holiday and have a stunning ring from there. I don't know the island at all well. I'll see if I can get through. Congrats on your engagement BTW Smile

Just curious- why must it be made in the Hebrides?

Another option, www.hebrideanjewellery.co.uk on South Uist. A friend has bought from there and it's beautiful.

MsF1t

My father was born there and he died last year (I am going to see my Mum on the island for the first anniversary of his death) she still lives on an island in the Outer Hebrides.

Hence it is a special place and home to me and I would love it if she could design the ring with me and take away the sadness of losing ( my Dad) her husband of 45 years.

Make a sad day into a happy day IYSWIM? Smile

I do. You have my sympathy- my Pa died a couple of years ago, so I understand. (Just a year off their 50th.) If me and the OH ever got hitched I'd like to think I could think of a nice way to remember him on the day. :)

Oh, and I'm a fellow Scot. Love the Hebrides and am learning Gaelic with my daughter, who be getting schooled in it, hopefully...

Good luck with it all, I bet the ring will be beautiful.

Inner Hebrides, not outer. But Isle of Mull Silver made my wedding ring 17yrs ago. Altho their website is dull, dull.

congratulations!

I got married on Skye and have got a Coruisk wedding band from Skye Jewellery : www.skye-jewellery.co.uk/
They do bespoke as well. All fabulous quality. I got a lovely pair of earrings too.

OooohShiny · 13/03/2012 14:15

Not quite what you're looking for as it's inner hebrides and she works mainly in silver but worth a shot:
