A place to share ideas.

Please.

We are a bit stuck this year!

Previous years we have done...

KS1
That Pesky Rat - brown trousers, jumper, head band with ears, pink tail, egg box nose with painted wiskers.
Saucepan Man - Camping pots slung over shoulders tied together with string.
Harry Potter - Standard fancy dress costume

KS2
Torak from Wolf Brother - caveman type stuff
A Ring Wrath from Lord of the Rings - Black hooded cape.

Last year (yr 3) DD was Junie B Jones - nice & easy - mismatched brightly coloured clothes, stripey tights, rara skirt etc - big over sized red bow with white spots from a strip of cloth - probably the easiest todate :)

I am hoping to recycle DS1's Hiccup outfit (How to Train Your Dragon) for DS2. - Jeans, long t-shirt for a tunic, leather belt and a waist coat thing I made from fur. Very simple, just 3 pieces, sewn down the sides with a gap for the arm holes. Oh and cheap plastic vikings helmet from eBay (about £4 I think).

Just being nosy.can anyone suggest for reception.I am stuck.I can't think.

We are doing Saucepan man this year.

I suggested Horrid Henry which would only have required ripped t shirt and jeans ( and maybe a super soaker) but DD2 wasn't in to it Smile

stupidgirl receptions pretty easy - DD or DS ???

but generally stick to classic fairytales & you'll probably already have something at home - DD was Cinderella in reception if I remember correctly

I was trying to think what we did for DS1 in reception and it was Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. We just got some slightly too small clothes, I sewed on a couple of patches and then I printed off the Golden Ticket which I typed up in Word and covered with some gold wrapping paper. Very easy.

DS2 had fantastic Mr Fox for reception but involved knitting a bushy foxes tail and making a felt waist coat so it was a bit of a faff if you don't have the time or inclination. I think he reused it in Yr 1 though so not too bad.

DS was in reception last yr, was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I made a simple green tunic and he helped make a cardboard hat. He won a prize and was v excited.

This year we're doing Where's Wally.
