can anybody tell me how I go about painting on tin? preperation, what kind of paint to use, best place for supplies etc?

Would prefer not to use a primer if that's at all possible

TIA :)

you can use the pebeo porcelaine 150 paints - basically they will work on anything that is heat resistant, as you need to bake in an oven when dry

should have added, it depends on the surface as to whether you need a primer or not, you can get away without on most things - at least we have with the things we've painted - though my next metal project is looks like it will need the primer as its a bit flaky - seems easier than stripping the whole thing

Just checked out the pebeo porcelaine, they look great and not a bad price - really excited about the pens too!!

Thanks for the tip :)
