Any good online places for cross-stitch supplies?

Needles, fabric, threads?

We have no craft or sewing shops near enough that I can get to, the department store that I usually use has just closed down, and the local branch only has a few bits and pieces, so I'm going to have to start getting them online.

Any recommendations?

Johnson Crafts are excellent

WigWamBam · 26/01/2006 18:32

Thanks - I have sites that I've used for charts and kits but they don't stock the fabrics and cottons. It's particularly annoying as I'm doing a kit at the moment and they haven't included enough of some of the threads, so I'm having to buy odd bits quite often - and I have nowhere to buy them from!

I ordered threads from Johnsoncrafts and they arrived next day, free p&p! Willow Fabrics have a good reputation too.

Thanks for that. I'll have a mooch on both sites later on.

I've always found sewandso.co.uk very good. Next day delivery as well.

Hey WWB, sorry for the delay in posting - another vote for sew and so here - sewandso always found them to be prompt and reliable, prices have always seemed ok too.

WigWamBam · 31/01/2006 14:04

Thanks, I'll check them out. It's getting hard to get decent fabrics locally; all I can get is 14 count Aida, which I don't like.

My particular all-needs shop is tandem cottage, also Johnson crafts are great very friendly.

RTKangaMummy · 08/11/2006 21:37

I used this one

Miaou · 08/11/2006 21:39

Another sewandso recommendation here - I've used them loads and found them excellent. Huge range of aidas.

I have used wimble bees in the past - haven't been able to beat them.. also the black sheep for threads and fabric... dmc skeins less than 50p each and its post free...
