here

I did needlework at school so I'm not an absolute beginner but it's been a while. I'm after a decent sewing machine for a large craft project for my Rotary group and also my own pleasure, don't have much to spend and am contemplating it. We have several places in walking distance from my house where I could get it repaired. Would you take a punt on this machine ?

I don't think I would - you can't be sure it is only a missing foot pedal and power lead. These would probably set you back quite a bit anyway. You would be better looking for an intact machine. Try asking on Freecycle/Freegle.

I wouldn't buy it. The seller clearly states that he/she is selling for spares or repairs.
