a Valentine's card for DH. I started off planning to do a tag shaped card, a few tags tied together with embellishments fanning out on each tag.

Some how it has evolved int o a little mini book!! I am loving it and can't wait for hubby to go to work tomorrow so I can do some more!

I think this has got to be the "scrapbooking" for me. Small, mini albums rather than that huge 12x12" that has been lurking in the cupboard of years.

So impatient, I want to play NOW!

yeah i love mini albums. you get to see the finished results quickly and are nice and easy to pull out(ooer)

have you tried paperbag books? I love them

Whizzz · 25/01/2006 18:43

I got a book from the library with loads of folded cards - can't wait to give it a go. One I quite fancy is a 'exploding' card - all folded so it pops out on opening

champs · 25/01/2006 22:17

ooo sounds interesting would love to see a pic of your finished card(s), i got a popup book last year when i brought some pressies, just remembered about it when i read that post.

Dingle · 25/01/2006 23:29

Book sounds good Whizzz, you'll have to show us some finished results.

I managed to do another 2 little pages today. Had both the kiddies at home with the dreaded lurgy and a hospital appointment with Amelia, so I count myself lucky that I managed that.

Got out some of my new scrapbook papers, stroked them, looked at them ...and put them back away again.I couldn't face cutting into one or tearing it!!! Still enjoying though! But I want to show someone, never really done this sort of thing before!!!!

Hopefully I will try & get all my stuff out tomorrow & give it a go !

AuntyQuated · 26/01/2006 18:47

i made an accordian book on a course but i don't know what to put in it.
do you put photos in? they would have to be very small.
does anyone have a pic of a finished one?

Dingle · 26/01/2006 19:07

The little book I am making is only the size of an A6 card! I didn't start off meaning to do a scrapbook , but it just seemed natural to personalise it with some tiny little photos.

I might try to take a few pics tomorrow, I am nearly finished now. It has been great fun.
Like my cardmaking when I first started I will probably look back and think OMG, why was I pleased with that! WEll in fact I still think that about my cards most of the time!

Oh well, I've finished. Not feeling confident about it now and feel it could be a lot better, but hey ho, it was my first attempt at anything like this!

I really enjoyed making it, but trying to rush and make it while the kiddies are at home with me was a BIG mistake.

Wow! What can I say

JayzMummy · 27/01/2006 15:43

Dingle its beautiful.....why on earth arent you joing the CJ group??...I would have loved a page from you in my journal.

Dingle · 27/01/2006 15:59

JM, I would have done but I just didn't really know how much time it would take up,and I didn't want to hold things up or let anyone down. You know how hectic life can be at times.

If I had someone's CJ to do and a run of hospital appointments with Amelia, I would get stressed out about it.

It's a confidence thing too. Apart from 1 double LO I did at a craft party 3 years ago, I haven't ever done any scrapbooking,so it would all be down to my experience of cards.

You should know me by now, a born worrier.

awww but Dingle the beauty of CJ's is that they dont take that long to contribute to...I love doing them because they are quick and yet can look so effective just by doing the most simple of things....Im sure you could join in with one of the groups and if things got a bit hairy for you no one would mind if it was a few days late.

champs · 27/01/2006 22:42

Dingle!! I love it!!- no pun intended well done your dh will be so happy and proud to recieve it.

oh and i am even more tempted to get the pigeon toe charms. I will save up and get them in march or for my birthday in Apr.

I really need to get my eyes re-tested. I KEEP opening "last hour" and catching sight of this thread and thinking it says "Today I started smoking"

UCM · 28/01/2006 00:40

It's lovely. Your card in the mag was brilliant as well. You are really really good.
