So I have to give a ten minute lecture...

On a subject of my choice for a course I am doing. I was thinking of doing Crochet as my topic.

Apart from being sick/hyperventilating about it all... I thought I could do a small booklet of basic stitches/foundation chain as one of my visual aids, a few samples of work done and maybe something small for each of them?

What would be quick/easy/effective to make?

How big is the audience? Could you get them doing for themselves (works if about 5 people, tricky with more!)

Don't give one 10 minute speech, give three 3 minute speeches about related topics with a 1 minute introduction. So, introduce - foundation chains - granny squares - amigurumi - thank you very much you've been a wonderful audience.

Can you work in a youtube vid about the basics? Much easier than craning to watch you!

Thanks Pidj!

I was planning on history, popularity/foundation, other stitches/ granny/amigurumi/hooks/wool in some sort of order.

The other students are taking gifts in the form of cakes etc. I was hoping to do the same?

I thought a booklet with all of the info in would be good too? Hopefully convert some more people!

You can probably print something from a blog, or at leadt get some nice clear photos.

Raid your local charity shops for hooks - they're kept under the counter - and make up some 5g bundles of cheap wool. One hook and one twist per peeson. Much better for the waist line than cake Wink

Brilliant idea!! I'm in Ireland, but could ask my Mum to have a look for some cheap hooks...

What about talking about yarn bombing?

IheartmyPanda · 20/02/2012 13:09

God I'm so sorry, I thought I had replied but something must have happened to it...

Thanks Pidj, I am definitely going to do that, will beat cakes any day Wink

Good idea bumper, have added to my list...

I bought a "knook" set this morning... has anyone used them?
