My name is Toddlerone and I am a Pinterest addict. I have been neglecting my children, house and husband. How do I get my life back?

I like Pinterest too but I have set myself priorities. I only do Pinterest in the evenings when all the work is done and when kids are in bed. I very rarely Pin in the mornings because that is when I prepare food. In the afternoon I collect my older child from school and then there are more things to do, so only in the evenings. I think if it bothers you then "set a timer". Give yourself 20-30 min/day and try to stick to it. At the end of the day Pinterest will always be there for you.

De-register yourself Grin

Seriously, I am finding I am into in bursts. I haven't pinned much this week but last week quite a bit as I am working on a project for a course I am doing.

How long have you been a member? Are you still in the first flush of pinning?

Toddlerone · 23/01/2012 12:13

I could never de-register myself from Pinterest! I love it too much. I did de-register myself from Facebook over a year ago now when I felt I was spending too much time on it and I've never looked back... But Pinterest is too pretty...

I do love it, but find my patience with all the religious nonsense starting to wear a little thin...

Toddlerone · 23/01/2012 14:03

It's very American based so yeah, there's lots of religious quotes. However, it is very easy to get rid of them; that's what I do anyway. Also, I don't like being bombarded with brownie recipes either as I'm a chocoholic trying to lose weight, so I just 'unfollow' those boards...

Well I only follow certain people, who don't come out with such stuff themselves, it's just other people leaving comments with their 'religious interpreatation'!

I know what you mean re the yummy food ideas, however I find that there's enough pictures of skinny women looking lovely in nice clothes that I'm ok!

mungojenny · 29/02/2012 21:24

You are welcome but if you become a pinterest addict be it on your own head :)

my invite request might go into your junk email (bitter experience of multiple pinterest requests...)

rockinhippy · 02/03/2012 13:18

I too am a Pinterest addict Blush & worse I have infected other RL friends by sharing pins on Facebook - one spends most of her time on there now & gets even less done & neglects her DD & DP more than meBlush - I also got my DD involved - Think I'm not only addicted, but a pusher too Blush

AndiMac · 04/03/2012 19:04

I'm a Pinterest addict as well. However, I have made several of the things I've pinned, so I feel it's not just all wishful thinking.

Today I pinned something and it has nearly 1000 repins! I feel like a Pinterest rock star!!

kellestar · 05/03/2012 20:55

it feels good to spread the joy of pinterest. I am on pinterest rations too. But do find I am using it for useful purposes, like making things for DD or seeing activities to do with DD. Honest Guv.

Eggrules · 05/03/2012 21:00

I love Pinterest.

I find it really weird when other people repin or follow a board in a flux. I pinned penny floor and I had tens of emails.
Now I am past the first flush, I find I am breaking my boards into smaller categories. I need to host parties and decorate my house asap.

WillowFae · 10/03/2012 22:57

I'm on Pinterest but don't pin much. Those of you who spend hours on it, what sort of things are you doing / pinning?
