Doesn't need to be 100% cotton, but not 100% polyester either. Any ideas?

What is it going to be used for? I thought all "polar fleece" was synthetic tbh, and an alternative will depend on it's purpose :)

For natural wadding try Cottonpatch I use it for babies' cot quilts. I always use natural fibres for wadding and find it easier to sew.

I have not tried this company but they have a nice selection of polyester plush fabrics Fabric-Online

You can get 90 per cent cotton velour from Myriad but it is expensive.

Ah. Yes I'd go for cotton wadding - you'd need add a layer of fabric on the outside and then quilt the layers, as it doesn't tend to be woven, it's sort of needle-punched/felted iykwim.
