How much are your blanks + what it's got on it + how long it took to make

Whizz, you talk about how long it took to make which is a very good point. I sell my cards between 1.30 & 2.50. If I sold them any dearer they wouldn't sell as well. But sometimes especially with my Angel cards 2.50 they take about an hour each card. So by the time I have taken off what they cost, about 60p. I have made 1.90 for an hours work.

Bloomin good job I enjoy making em.

My dearest cards are £2 - for things like fiddly funky foam shapes or wired flowers that take quite a bit of time to construct.
If someone wants a specific theme and I have to go & by something just for that card, I also try & take that into account.

I try to keep my cards at a pretty standard price. I mange to get most of my card blanks cheaply by buying in the cards stock and folding myself. I also buy my envelopes in bulk as much as I can- usually buy 500 at a time along with the poly bags. They may sit there for ages, but they are all neatly stored and protected to keep them like "new!"
I make mainly A5 cards for which I charge £2, 20p of that goes to my Downs Syndrome group. Some cards can literally take me hours to make, but mostly that is when I design from stratch. I really don't feel I can ever charge to realistically cover an hourly rate. Like you said UCM it's just as well I make cards because I enjoy making them.

I try to keep the prices simplified, you may pay more for the embellishments on one card than another but at the end of the day it all evens out.

I make up some pretty bog standard cards that take me 10 mins each to make and sell them for £2....cost is around 37p-49p..so works out on average to £9 per hour for my labour. the sales of these cards keeps me topped up so that when I make a card that takes any longer than an hour, I charge accordingly...never more than £3 but then there is P&P to go on top. All evens out to around £5-6 per hour....never gonna make a fortune from making and selling cards...I do it for the love of it.
Like Dingle I donate 10% of all card sales to charity...our local Autistic Society

it usually takes me 20 mins to half an hour to do one card... as i fold my own cards and do them from stratc....so ok ive got the idea now
