...and I am shattered but it was a great day. Lots of walking around and people, not many freebies or mega great offers but enough B&P to make me happy.

Whats the sizzix big shot? and did you see anyone demonstrate the Craft Robo cutting machine? if so what did you think?

jayzmummy · 14/11/2005 15:28

sizzix big shot is the new sizzix cutting machine and I want a Robo....its on my wish list from santa.

pootlepod · 14/11/2005 15:42

I liked the Big Shot, it looked easier to use than the sizzix. The offer was £85 with 2 dies and something else. Was very tempted by this but need to rein in on my craft spending! I saw the stall with the robo but it wasn't in action when I passed, should have asked for a demo as it's been intruiging me from the adverts.

The cheapest I've seen the Robo is £295 has anyone seen it cheaper? and does anyone know the difference between the spellbinder version in the USA? I did read it was cheaper than the robo but you are restricted with the cuts it does anyone one know anything more about it.

jayzmummy · 14/11/2005 16:52

carolinette....might be worth asking over on UKS as lots of the crafters have the Robo over there.

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 16:55

Hi Jm
Whats UKS

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 16:57

Does the Big shot take a piece of A4 as you know the sizzix doesn't

kiwibelle · 14/11/2005 17:19

robo... big shot... what da ????

Carolinett, I do know the answer to yours UK Scrappers www.ukscrappers.co.uk

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 17:22

Thanks KB

champs · 14/11/2005 19:15

lol kiwibele!!

Carolinett -- are you meaning the wizard? that's a die cutting machine not computer aided

kiwibelle · 14/11/2005 20:56

seriously though... am I wasting my money buying a sizzix now if there are bigger and better things superseding this machine???

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 21:07

Sorry I've got the wizard thingy it die cuts & embosses it brilliant. I should of said the spellbinder, I got confused, spellbinder makes the wizard but they also make somthing like the robo I'll see if I can find the link

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 21:09

KB the only thing wrong with the sizzix is that you can't put a piece of A4 card init.

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 21:20

sorry again it's not spellbinder it's wish blade got there in the end
have a look at this scroll down the page a bit it's on the right hand side it's a blur coloured thingy it's supposed to be the US version of the robo but I don't think it does as much. It's a lot cheaper

champs · 14/11/2005 21:44

ahhh i saw this at the ally pally show in Oct. looked good. there's also another one out there, comes in three versions will get name for you later, tis in a mag upstairs. I did want one of these or robo, after i saw them at show, thought about it at home and didn't feel same urge. It isn't portable enough.

there's an electronic die cutter out/on wat out that looks a bit like a leappad that looked quite good, it comes with cartridges. you can take it about.

My dream is to own one of the ellison profesional(sp?) cutters.

kiwibele -- it is a case of personal preference, if you can hold out till bigshot comes out or you get to try it out then you can have a play and see which one you want.

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 21:54

Hi Champs
How are you?
Do you know whether the big shot takes a piece of A4 width
DH said he would buy me the robo for christmas, but it would be my one and only christmas present.
I'm just weighing it up I know a women close by that has the robo and she has said that she will cut things for me and just charge for the card so I'm thinking would I get a lot of use out of it, it's a lot of money

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 22:00

I went on the ellison site I saw the big shot cutter & embosser on there, but couldn't see if it takes A4 so I've emailed them

champs · 14/11/2005 22:16

I'm fine hun, how are you? maybe you can take up your friends offer and see how much you tend to need things cut, then get it at a later date.

would love to know the response to email, it didn't look that big but if it cuts a4 it would be great.

Carolinett · 14/11/2005 22:19

I'm fine just realy busy making Christmas cards
When I get a reply I'll let you know

Carolinett · 15/11/2005 18:53

Champ
Big Shot update
After reading the literature from the Ellison Web site it states it's 40% lighter & 20% wider so in my estimation it won't cut a piece of A4, so I'll have to stick with the Wizard for now

champs · 15/11/2005 20:10

thanks!!

Whizzz · 15/11/2005 20:11

Did you get the pnk bracelet Champs ?

Carolinett · 15/11/2005 20:37

Update to the update, according to my friend who owns Andy craft's in Chester Market she just phoned to say the Big shot will cut a piece of A4 folded in half and will be for sale before Christmas for around £89.00
Quess whats going on my Christmas list, yip he
