Had no idea how it would turn out, so am very chuffed with the results, and just needed to share with like-minded people (my real life freidns don't really share my creative passions Grin)

It is here if anyone wants to have a llok.

Next xhallenge is to make another one less balloon shaped, more round, any ideas?

Won't it melt or catch fire when you turn it on? Confused

I absolutly love looking at your blog. You have made some wonderful things.

I love the chest of drawers you painted and i'm now wondering if I could do something similar with my horrible bedroom furniture.

It is fab, when I was at nursery school years ago, I remember the staff making one of these using coloured string. I have always wanted to make one.

FAB I don't think so, it is far enough away from the bulb, and the bulb is a low wattage energy saving one that never gets hot. It's no different from the other paper lampshades you can buy like the chinese ones and the star ones.

Originalnutcracker glad you like it, i love my new chest of drawers, it has transformed my room, you should do it to your furniture!

Ebbandflow I think these would look great in coloures string, with smaller balloons, for hanging from trees in the garden for garden parties etc!

Between you and Mum of all trades, I feel entirely inadequate

Are you going to try another with the learned ideas. Vaseline/ paper on first?

overmydeadbody · 09/04/2011 13:56

Don't feel inadequate bronze!

Yes I am going to try to make one with a net curtain instead of tissue paper, and with vaseline, will see how that goees!
