my 5yr old Dd started school in September and being slightly rebellious I always sent her in funky coloured/patterned tights (said nothing about tight colour in prospectus lol) but she must have gone through about 20 pairs of gorgeous funky pairs after buggering over and putting a little hole in the knee!!!

i dont want to chuck them as they were only worn a few times and were quite expensive so does anyone have any ideas or patterns for turning them into sock monkeys/donkeys/rabbits anything???????

thanks in advance

My Dd has done the same since nursery started and I just sew them up.

Alternatively...could you cut them into long strips, zig zag the raw edges and then plait/crochet them into a rug? When I was a youngster some 35-40 years ago, there was an editorial called Golden Hands and one of their projects was to plait different coloured nylon tights and then stitch together to make a rug; was very effective though we never made one Grin.

snake draught excluders? I'm sure sock monkeys and sock bunnies are a possibility. I've also seen sock monsters.
