Pattern help needed

I'm trying to crochet part of a hat (an owl beak) and I'm stuck on the pattern. It's very short and goes as follows.

Row 1: chain 5, skip ch closest to hook and sc across {4 sc}
Row 2: ch 1, sc2tog, sc2tog {2 st}
Row 3: ch 1, sc2tog {1 st}

I'm stuck at what it means by sc2tog. Does it mean I do 2 single crochets in the same chain?

The beak should come out in a triangle shape. It's an American pattern btw.

First off, in English it's a double crochet (in case you were confused about it - some people are)

sc or dc2tog stands for single/double crochet two together. I usually interpret this as hook through next stitch, yarn over, pull up loop, hook through next stitch, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over, through all 3 loops on hook.

Works for me, anyhow! if it doesn' help youtube is a better friend to you than I am Wink
