Putting together girl's Medieval style dress for Book day at school

Dd - 7, insists on going as Rapunzel (is it the Tangled advertising?) so found a piece of black chiffon fabric to be her lengthened locks. Now that I've got over feeling chuffed about the hair I need to put together a costume to give her the medieval princess look Confused

Any suggestions please?

How about a summer dress tied with a belt or scarf to create an empire line type dress, so just under her probably non existent bust, then pop a cardigan over that. If you've got any of the chiffon left get a piece of thin card and make it into a cone, then you can drape a long piece of chiffon around it in a faux middle age hat type thingy.

Purple, I am so tempted to have a go at that outfit by I suspect that with 2 left hands it might be a bit too tall an order!

Redrosie, I think I can just about manage your fab suggestion, thank you.

Maggie, how long have you got? I make clothes for SN kids as a sideline www.facebook.com/mimapants and if there's time to buy, make and post, I could do something for you?

Er Rapunzel had golden hair, didn't she?

Thanks Purple, I'm afraid it's for this Thursday - kept asking her to think of something else but for some reason she's stuck on the idea. Have seen something on ebay which I might go for.

How about a long skirt of yours (or from charity shop) hoiked up under her armpits over a long sleeved tshirt? Then for the hat, roll some card into a cone for her to decorate, have ribbons coming out of the top if you're feeling adventurous?

Think I feel the urge to visit the local charity shop. I definitely feel adventurous - not sure about the little Miss but don't think she has much say at this point!
