I really like this fabric but its for my babies buggy

and think it might be a bit old with coffee cups??

Is there anything similar colours but maybe more childish?

ooo I like!!! Good choice (bookmarked for laters!)

Shout if you need any help, but lots of great advice on google and utube.

I made a great blanket for my ds, it was just stripes of fabric sewn together (think it might have been in the background of the 'chicks' pictures.) and that was easy and I had so many compliments on it.

Fat quarters do work out pricey tho...try have a look in a fabric shop as sometimes they ahve really cute stuff and quite lot cheaper!

TotorosOcarina · 12/02/2011 20:57

We only have 1 fabric shop near us and its kids stuff its really old and 80's and not in a good way.

It works out a hell of alot cheaper than buying them made like I've been doing for years Grin

Go y first sewing machine so going a bit mad! Bbay not due for 3 months!

oh your stuff is so gorgeous!

what do you use in the head hugger to plump it up?

Kryshees · 12/02/2011 21:02

Just toy stuffing, but not too firm!

try the cottonpatch.co.uk and kidsfarics.co.uk too, they are quite cool.

Thank you, I got into sewing after my dd (3yrs) and ds (2yrs) as I just couldn't afford things I wanted! boo hoo

Kryshees · 12/02/2011 21:02

opps kidsfabrics.... Smile

TotorosOcarina · 12/02/2011 21:03

I love your dresses, I'd be over the moon if I could make things like those,

I better get practising! :)

Thanks for the advice :)

There are some amazingly easy patterns out there too, like the newlook patterns...

They make them as easy, tricky etc..Go on!! Give it a try!!

3 months...loads of time to practice!!!

I second Fabric Rehab and I was recently pointed in the direction of Spoonflower where you can design your own fabric and they print it for you- but if you aren't inclined to design, you can buy the stuff other people have designed. It's a treasure trove.

I recently made DS a duvet cover from Zoo fabric (I bought it from Fabric Inspirations) which is a similar colour scheme to your original fabric OP.

coldcomfortHeart · 13/02/2011 10:57

Actually you were on that thread OP and it was probably you who told me about Spoonflower!

TotorosOcarina · 13/02/2011 11:33

was it the labrador fabric thread?

not me that mentioned spoonflower,

did you find the fabric?

OP posts:
coldcomfortHeart · 13/02/2011 16:10

It was indeed the labrador fabric thread- found some fabric on Spoonflower but I need to email the client as I just can't get it without the price going up a bit. (It's a mates' rate!)

I hope he says yes as I'd love to use Spoonflower but can't justify it for myself!
