Blogged on So Resourceful

I have decided that tutorials are really hard to write, and take longer than making the thing, so I think I'll give the tutorial writing a break for now, unless people specifically ask me for instructions.

I like looking at photos of other people's creations more than my own.

That bag is lovely.

My concern with fabric bags is that they aren't strong. I have a tendency to over fill bags and you could get a lot of stuff in a bag that size.

I reckon yours could take the pressure of being my bag, well for a little while anyway - it looks tough and up for the job.

And I suppose, at least if you made it yourself, you could always make another one if did give up the ghost! Smile

I do worry about the strength of fabric bags too neicie, but having thought about it, I recon this one is pretty strong, as all the fabric is interfaced, the fabric certainly isn't going to rip. I guess the seams could give way but physics says the load would be spread out evenly over the entire area so not put too much pressure in one place.

I've filled it with my food shopping without it giving up, and those thinn cotton shopping bags seem to be able to manage a lot!

Lovely bag. Thx for posting such a detailed tutorial. I think I'll have a go at making one if I can remember how to use my sewing machine!
