Emergency - Need to make a Luke Skywalker outfit for a party on Saturday!

My son is 6 and obsessed with Star Wars so we have plenty of lightsabers and darth Vader helmets knocking around but he wants to be Luke or Anakin.

I am not handy with a sewing machine, can hand sew a bit but I really do not want to be running to a costume shop and am panicking, slightly....

Need to source a tunic and cape to get a really effective Jedi Knight look - I can probably knock up a utility belt but are there any suggestions for quick and dirty costume making that I can be inspired by??? I would appreciate some ideas to get me focused instead of just googling pictures for ideas and not knowing where to start!

You could go to a charity shop to find a man's shirt and a blanket for the cloak and dye it brown in the washing machine. Not too sure where you are going to get a pair of 3D glasses for the light sabre from.

Find a friend who does judo - judo kits look like Luke Skywalker's outfit from original Star Wars.

Thank you for your input - I did make my own with a little help from the local charity shop. One oatmeal jumper and a brown v neck t-shirt (ladies size 14)and a stretchy brown belt, plus knee socks and a pair of beige leggings (borrowed from his younger sis). I cut the front of the jumper and stiched back the raw edges to make the loose judo style tunic. Fastened the ensemble together with the stretchy belt, then once he was wearing it and posing with laser blaster and light saber he really looked the part.

He already looks like luke with floppy blond hair etc... he enjoyed the party and that was the main thing.
