Knitted numbers

Can anyone direct my to a free pattern for knitting free standing numbers? I want to make some for a birthday card and can't seem to find any other than knitted in ones

or crochet? anyone? oh bother....

I don't mean they need to stand up by the way, just that I want them unattached and to mount them onto card rather than have them as part of a jumper pattern iyswim?

no idea but it sounds like a great idea which I might just 'borrow' so i'll keep watching for some genius to come along and help!
