How do you discreetly offer a discount on Etsy shop to family and friends?

I've just opened my Etsy shop and listed my first items. They're expensive, though, and I would like to make it clear to friends and family that I would not expect them to pay full price. What's the best way to offer them a discount, without looking like I'm advertising to them? I know lots want to buy my things, btw.

Can you give them a promotional code to use with a % off? My dh thinks that if you accept payment by Paypal you can set up promotional codes that way. Good luck with your shop!
