Im posting your parcel today....have popped some vellum and some mulberry tissue and mulberry paper in there

Vellum is see through and can be used for embossing...its a bit tricky to stick because the glue shows through, so I always use brads/eyelets or put the glue where it can be covered by an embellishment.

Mulberry tissue is very fine and mulberry paper is thicker. Both can be torn by drawing a line with a small paintbrush and then tearing....it gives a lovely featherd edge.

Look out for Mr Postie...he should be with you tomorrow.

Biglips

Do you have a Wilkinsons near you? They sell a double sided tape that they market on the basis that it has no paper to peel off either side, it's under a quid and great with vellum! Love the stuff.

Try layering vellum over part of an image you are using too, it changes the colours (esp. great if you use the coloures variants) and looks amazing. It also tears well, but DO NOT get it damp or put in near PVA as it warps horribly.

Try making a mini envelope with it, then writing ameesage on a piece of paper in bold pen and sealing in the envelope so it shows through.

With very thin paper, I have also stuck normal sellotape to the back of it & then put a blob of glue onto the sellotape - seems to work OK & you can't see either !

Yep Biglips that's the one, ultratape. Amazingly cheap huh? You should see what some craft sites sell vellum glues etc for!!!

Just to let you all know if you have a Poundland near you I got two fantastic crafty bargains there last weekend. A big roll of double sided foam tape (about 1/2 an inch wide) plus 8 (I think) sheets of double sided 3D foam pads all for £1. Also, a multipack of 6 giant rolls of complately clear double sided tape for £1 and the backing comes off like a dream.

Going back tomorrow to get a trolley full!!!

ok... what is wilkinsons? Ultratape sounds like a brand name though so I will keep my eyes open for that.

Hi kiwibelle Wilkinson is a general store that has good prices.
Ultratape is the brand name so you may find it in other stores too, it comes on a dispenser. If you have any probs gettin it I can always pick you one up if you would like.
